Welcome

Shalom to our congregants, guests and visitors. Temple Beth Shalom is a dynamic, caring community. We encourage you to invite family and friends to share the unique warmth and spiritual richness of our congregational life.

We offer our members a variety of ways to make a personally meaningful and joyful connection to Judaism through participation in worship, life celebrations, learning and community service.

TBS HIGH HOLY DAYS – Perform the Mitzvah of Ushering!

Many important features of our High Holy Day atmosphere and logistics are performed by the TBS Ushers. This is an opportunity to both participate in creating the appropriate worship environment, plus greet friends and acquaintances at this solemn yet celebratory time of year.

With two service locations for the first time, the Temple very much needs additional ushers for High Holy Days 2008. You need only volunteer for the service times you desire, and complete orientation will be provided. While a wonderful mitzvah for the Temple, ushering represents an enjoyable and active volunteer activity.

The TBS Ushers group is sponsored by our Brotherhood, but women are also encouraged to participate – and have greatly added to the quality of our efforts. Please join us!

Ushering at TBS represents a flexible avenue for volunteer efforts, and a forum for meeting and greeting new folks. Please consider volunteering for the High Holy Days, and contact Jeremy Serwer at ushers@tbsneedham.org or at 781-444-0077 (via the Temple Office).

Thank you!

Recycling at TBS

A new dumpster for paper recycling has been installed at the Temple.  The Temple will earn money all paper recycled.  Please bring your paper recycling and leave it with us.  For more details on what paper can be accepted, click here.

Congratulations to our Temple Softball Teams!
We are delighted that this year our Brotherhood has formed not one but two wonderful softball teams to compete in the Boston Area Men's Shul Softball League - the Temple Beth Shalom Bashers 1 and 2.  We congratulate our Bashers 2 team which has advanced to the semifinals of the League, having upset a previously undefeated team to reach the final four.

The Music Man

Temple Beth Shalom presented a spectacular production of The Music Man in May 2008.  Almost 100 people were involved in the production in some fashion, including over 50 actors (with cameo appearances by Rabbis Perlman and Markley!).  Over 1000 people attended the performances including many members of the congregational family.
